Haptics introduces a new interaction paradigm in XR applications by enhancing user experience through touch, deepening immersion and cognitive engagement. Without haptics, XR lacks physical sensation, breaking the illusion and preventing perception of virtual objects' properties like shape, texture, and weight. Visual and auditory cues are often used as substitutes, but they can overwhelm these senses and reduce realism. In this talk, Guido Gioioso – CEO and Co-Founder of WEART – will go through 5 successful use cases where haptic technology transforms the XR experience.
